VTL has an engineering pedigree going back to 1919. Today, we are a world-wide manufacturing and development partner.
As Sagar-Richards, the company already had a reputation for high quality engineering in forging, machining and casting components. In 1997 it was acquired by the Valeo Group, investing in process equipment and ‘Lean’ manufacturing principles, based upon the Toyota Production System.
In November 2001, the current owners undertook a management buyout.
Since that point, the business has grown considerably from £8m in revenues in 2001 employing 80 people, to a projected £100m in 2014 with over 500 people.
A number of key strategic businesses have been acquired since the management buyout, helping to grow our global capabilities as a market leader in automotive markets. Having won numerous customer awards and new projects, we now have supply partners and customers across the world.
The organisation has evolved from a traditional ‘make-to-print’ manufacturer to a technically advanced component and assembly supply partner.
Today, the VTL Group is focused on excelling as a modern and progressive precision automotive engineering company and aims to provide expertise in alternative materials, processes, sourcing, prototyping, testing and simulation and non-standard manufacturing solutions in addition to its existing global manufacturing capabilities.
To that effect, a brand new technical centre was opened early 2012, to focus and regroup all R&D and development resources to provide our existing and current customers with the latest in precision engineering technologies.
