The Company was established as Sagar Richards in Halifax, UK.
2001
Sagar Richards, which had become part of the Valeo Group, was acquired through a management buyout.
2006
The Group was strengthened by the acquisition of Taylor and Whiteley, a precision engineering company with tool room and development capabilities.
2007
The VTL Group set up its first overseas manufacturing site, TWL Precision Inc, in Charleston, South Carolina. The Company has been set up principally to supply the Group's growing USA customer base and to serve the automotive, truck and other industrial sectors.
2008
The VTL Group signs a joint venture agreement with Uni-Deritend Ltd, part of the Neterwala Group of Companies, to manufacture precision machined components for the Automotive and Industrial sectors.
2010
A new 35,000 square foot purpose built manufacturing facility based in India will be fully operational. Uni-VTL Engineering PVT Ltd, will be located in Dharwad, Karnataka province in the south west of India. The company will supply the rapidly growing passenger vehicle and motorcycle markets in Asia as well as Europe. The company will also produce precision machined components for diverse applications to a wide range of industrial sectors.

By establishing a manufacturing capability in India that is both close to its customers and guarantees the same quality and level of testing and inspection as in Europe and the US, the Group is able to offer a continually improving level of service in terms of cost efficiency and turnaround times.
