VTL Group is a privately owned company established in 2001 following the management buy-out of Valeo Transmissions Limited, a subsidiary of the French Automotive components Group Valeo.

Our facilities located in both the UK and the USA are fully accredited (ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949:2016, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018).

Our core business is focused on providing precision machined services and sub-assemblies for a wide range of demanding Automotive and Industrial applications.

We supply into the leading Automotive companies for both Passenger Car and Commercial (on highway and off highway) vehicles as well as Industrial OEMs and their associated Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers.

We use the latest technology in machine tools and automation solutions to support specific customer needs and deliver long term value through a collaborative approach with our customers.

We have incorporated world-class operational excellence tools within our own VTL Production System and New Product Introduction Process to enable continuous improvement in all aspects of our business.

1919

Company established as Sagar Richards Limited, Halifax, UK

1997

French automotive group Valeo acquires Sagar Richards and changes name to Valeo Transmissions Limited.

2001

A management buy-out team lead by Bruno Jouan acquires Valeo Transmissions Limited to create the VTL Group.

2006

VTL acquires precision machining company Taylor and Whiteley Limited in Huddersfield, UK

2008

VTL opens its US subsidiary in Charleston, South Carolina, USA

2010

VTL opens its Indian JV company in Dharwad, Karnataka, India

VTL Group acquires precision machining company ACL Limited, UK

2011

VTL relocates ACL to bigger facilities in Huddersfield, UK

2012

VTL opens its technical centre in the UK

2013

Business Growth Fund plc (BGF) invest in the group and becomes a minority shareholder

2016

VTL invests in a new 40,000 sq.ft facility dedicated to aluminium machining

2018

VTL expands its footprint in the USA with a second 40,000 sq.ft facility in Goose Creek, South Carolina

VTL invest heavily in new flexible and automated machining cells both in the UK and USA

VTL Group sells its aluminium machining business to the Ryobi Group of Japan

VTL Group sells its Indian JV stake to the Neterwala Group to focus solely on its UK and USA manufacturing presence
